Chapter 02: Jiang Cheng
Zhu Sha had just finished taking a shower. The water droplets that were not wiped off slid down from her collarbone to her cleavage.
While wiping her hair with one hand, she grabbed the phone with the other. She saw the WeChat messages Qi Zhen Zhen sent her and clicked on them one by one. A mocking smile formed on the corner of her mouth, and then the phone was thrown back on the bed. She sat in front of the dressing table and began her skincare routine.
A twenty-year-old girl was stunning enough without makeup.
But how can this be possible?
Even though things started out as a dead end, now this face has become her capital.
She religiously spent half an hour doing her night skincare routine before opening her phone to check Weibo again.
The clothes indicate that the photos were taken the day before yesterday... But it does not matter. Jiang Cheng has been distracted for about a month now and he does not hide anything
In addition, Zhu Sha has been with him for a year, so she is certain that even if there is anything hidden, she can discover it.
But what's the point? She was not Jiang Cheng's person.
He gives her money, and she gives him her body.
This was a fair deal. There's no room for emotions at all.
Jiang Cheng's indifference came too late. Zhu Sha was already very grateful that he had helped her for a year and would not ask for anything more.
They were not from the same world.
She turned off the lights, thinking that he would not come back tonight.
Her cell phone buzzed in the following moment.
“Jiang Cheng?”
"Please pick me up."
With a 'hmm', Zhu Sha hung up the phone. The address was sent to WeChat by Jiang Cheng.
He has been drinking, but she cannot tell. His voice was as low and magnetic as ever.
Jiang Cheng does not like to hire a chauffeur. Whenever he drinks, he always calls her to pick him up. In the past year, Zhu Sha has done that multiple times.
This time was a bit different than usual.
It had been three days since she last saw Jiang Cheng. She took a taxi and saw him leaning against the car from a distance. She watched as the girl hooked around his neck as though she had been born on his body. His arms wrapped around her waist while talking to her.
Zhu Sha felt that the scene was somewhat inexplicably absurd.
She suppressed the ridiculous idea of catching an adulterous couple and strolled over. When Jiang Cheng spotted her, he let go of the girl's waist, which looked like she had a little too much to drink and was still resting on his chest.
"I really did not drink too much, Jiang Cheng..." The girl's voice was very soft as if petulant.
"Well, get in the car first." He patiently coaxed.
The girl appeared to be too weak to stand, so he lifted her sideways. Zhu Sha's eyebrows rose, Jiang Cheng indicated that the car door was not locked, and she opened the backseat door where Jiang Cheng put the girl in. Zhu Sha opened the door to the driver's seat and sat down when she heard the girl in the back say, "Jiang Cheng, I want to drink some water..."
Zhu Sha turned a deaf ear. Who was she talking to?
Jiang Cheng paused and shut the car door closed before entering the 7-11 side.
The girl seemed sober immediately, "Are you Zhu Sha?"
Zhu Sha lit a cigarette and remained silent.
"I'm Xu Rou Rou, and I just became Jiang Cheng's secretary." Although her voice was soft, there was a hint of hidden provocation and complacency.
Exhaling a puff of smoke, Zhu Sha said, 'Oh.' She was not interested in knowing who this woman was nor was she worried about her future.
"Even though Mr. Jiang looks aloof, he was actually quite gentle." Although Xu Rou Rou did not receive the reaction she wanted, she still continued to talk, demonstrating how obedient Jiang Cheng was to her.
Jiang Cheng came back and climbed into the car, giving Xu Rou Rou the bottle of water.
"Send her home first, Xiliuyuan." Zhu Sha's cigarette was taken by him and she calmly started the car.
"Mr. Jiang, tomorrow's meeting in C City..." Xu Rou Rou changed her address when talking about business.
"You can rest at home tomorrow." He gave a nonchalant response.
"I can..." Xu Rou Rou said while slightly supporting herself in the back seat.
"I will be back in a day and take you to Switzerland." He was still nonchalant, but his words were warm and virile.
Zhu Sha could not help but chuckle through her nose, which made Jiang Cheng raise his eyes and stare at her. She adjusted her expression.
When they reached Xu Rou Rou's house, he lifted her out of the car.
Zhu Sha paused and smoked another cigarette. She did not know how long he would be gone. If he got in the mood, he might not come down for the night.
But she did not expect him to be back in less than half a minute. It seemed that he did not even go upstairs.
"Why do you smoke so much?" Jiang Cheng entered the car.
“I thought it would be a long wait.”
He glanced at her, "Not that long."
She stepped on the gas and the car sped away.
“Aren't you going to ask me anything?” His tone was still lax.
"What is there to ask?" She asked him in return.
Yes, what was there to ask? He has a new lover, and she, the 'old lover', can wait to be taken off the shelf.
"Besides, am I qualified to ask?"
For a moment, Jiang Cheng remained reticent. Sometimes, he likes Zhu Sha's understanding, but sometimes, he feels that she shows it too much, which makes him a little uncomfortable.
"Come with me to C City tomorrow."
“I am going to see my mom tomorrow morning.”
He nodded, “We will leave at noon.”
"Does this mean I can take my last shift?" She grinned.
But she did not know which of Jiang Cheng's nerves had been triggered because he said, "Baby, you may need to drive a little faster."
